I did a lot of research before I bought this muffler. I wanted something louder than stock, but not to loud to upset the neighbors or the police. I would describe this as a mature sound, that is not obnoxious! At first I thought it was too quiet, but it seemed to get louder after a few hours of use. There’s a little drone to inside the truck, but usually only when I’m accelerating. Turn the radio on and the drone goes away. I put this on my 2010 Silverado that I’ve been restoring over the past few years. I’m very happy with the sound. Could it be louder, sure…but I don’t think I’d like the louder noise on the inside if I had gone with a 40 series.
