This book presents what might be a new way to think about High School education and college prep for our kids. In a fairly short book and with a very easy, conversational style, Lee Binz discusses how to pay attention to and recognize your child's passions and interests, how to turn those passions into courses and credits, and how to approach it with balance. She gave me some new ideas to incorporate into our High School home school plan, and some specific methods with which to implement those ideas. I really appreciate the big picture (recognize and value our children's passions) along with the nuts and bolts of fitting it into a college prep High School plan (e.g., how to turn a child's time spent on an area of passion into a course description with credit, how to grade/evaluate, etc). The idea of valuing delight directed learning was an "aha" moment for me that now feels like "of course, that makes such good sense." Thanks, Lee Binz, for making it clear, easy, and do-able, since I don't have time to read full-length books these days!
