I've used this style and brand of journal for many years. It is easy and comfortable to write in, in bed, or, where ever. The pages are sewn in and so I can handle and read any of my journals, going back many years. A superb choice for any writer. I recently gave one to my granddaughter to start her on her own personal journey of writing.I bought this to replace another ledge book, and it is okay, but not the quality I was expecting for the price. I kept it though and will use it eventually.I'm on my eighth of these books (use them daily at work since April 2008) and they hold up pretty well. I've never broken a binding (sometimes there are small tears that develop on the edges of the vinyl) or torn out a sheet. The paper is fair - holds ink well smudge-wise but heavier markers and gel pens will soak through to the other side. Lays pretty flat for xeroxing purposes.
