My son started reading the Jack Stalwart series at age 6. I would read them to him at night before going to sleep. He is turning 9 and now reads them to me.He loves this series because the main character is an elementary school kid who gets to be a super-spy. The plots are entirely incredible, but entertaining. I love this series because it gets my son to read, and it's a bonus that they have facts at the beginning of the book about the various places Jack Stalwart will be visiting in the book.I personally loved Book 12 - fight for the frozen land. It opened up a discussion with my son about global warming and, timing being what it is, we read the book right before the BP oil spill, and I was able to discuss that with him when it happened because he already had a basis to draw his understanding from.Unfortunately, Ms. Hunt only started writing these a few years ago, so, as of this writing, there are only 12 books in the series, and my son has devoured all of them already. According to the Jack Stalwart website, they are coming out with two new books in 2011 and I know my son can't wait. Kudos to the writer for doing a great job.
