The video and audio quality of this series is very good. If you were a fan of the show, this set will be worth the cost.The packaging is horrific. There are two spindles on every plastic sheet in the package, and two DVDs on each spindle. This means that someone you have to remove three disks to get at the one you want. Also, the spindles' grip on the disk is tight enough that you have a hard time avoiding bending the disk to get it off the spindle. As you know, bending DVDs or Blu-ray disks is a certain way to screw up the digital encoding on the disks.The first thing I did was purchase a 48 disk, soft CD holder, transfer all the disks over from the horrible original packaging, then toss the original packaging into the trash can.3-8-16. We are in Season Six of our second viewing of this delightful, entertaining and usually very well written "detective" series, or spoof, satirical, farcical treatment of serious human subjects. Thomas Magnum seems to be a psuedo-serious private "investigator" who pretends to spend most of his time getting the goods on potential divorce participants, or find missing persons, or help the police operative du jour solve a variety of crimes, most of which interestingly enough seem to involve his friends, or close acquaintances. The writers and producers seem to have taken great delight in messing with their characters as the audience became familiar with and attached to the primary players in each week's drama. Had to be a real chore to come up with plausible story lines, but the groundwork was well formed from the beginning with such details as their former experiences while serving in the armed forces, living on the estate of an eccentric writer and world traveler, whom we never get to meet but hear from occasionally. One gripe I have with all series productions is the incredible intensity and loudness of the seemingly ever-present background music. Although very well done, it's too @#$%%& & LOUD! I assume the writers, producers, directors and sponsors all have cousins, nephews, half-brothers and uncles who are music mavens and must be found work for, but the volume of most accompanying music is incredibly intrusive and annoying, detracting from one's enjoyment of the primary program. Too bad.The DVD’s are great! One of the finest series ever. I rated it a 4 as the packaging was terrible. No easy way to access the DVD’s or protect them.Love this series especially Higgins. Great to see scenes from Hawaii where it’s filmed! Worth while but!!Made his day.I have not viewed all the dvd's in the series but those that I have seen were of good quality. I feel that based on the ones I have taken the time to look at, the remaining dvd's will also be of good quality.Fun pastime while stuck at home.great quality
