This is a great show from the seventies, and is very much full on with the climate at the time in the UK regarding coloured workers living and working in the UK. They were not welcome, and there moves under way to send them all back where they came from. But the international court at the time told the UK government that such a move was illegal. What the show does, is to lampoon the British societies attitudes to coloured 'outsiders' at the time. The show could never be made today in the political correct society that we now live. But the whole idea of Spike Milligan's show, was to highlight how badly society of the day viewed and treated 'coloured' or 'different' people. Although the shows are very funny, they do show a very sad side of the 1970s climate of racial intolerance and bigotry at the time.A good series to watch and enjoy, but also good to understand how things have thankfully changed since the 70s.
